Metropolitan is a regional wholesaler that delivers water to 26 member public agencies serving 19 million people living in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties. Metropolitan and its member agencies have long been leaders in water conservation. Since 1990, Metropolitan has invested $293 million in conservation programs. Water-use efficiency is encouraged with financial incentives such as rebates and a tiered pricing structure, outreach and education programs, and support for new plumbing and compliance codes that facilitate water savings.
