Narre Warren business, Enviro-Fresh Australia Pty Ltd has developed a low-cost system called the Sani-Sleeve that dramatically minimises public bathroom water waste, improves hygiene in urinals, replaces harmful chemical use, and eliminates smells.

With the Sani-Sleeve, three litres of water is timed to flush four times a day, equalling just 4,380 litres of water per cistern per year. This represents immense net annual water savings of 258kL of drinkable water per cistern.

The Sani-Sleeve’s odour-locking component lines the internal surface of the urinal waste outlet and trap. ‘Good’ bacteria and enzymes in the Sani-Sleeve deal with the cause of smells and blockages by feeding the uric salts, which become soluble and wash away with the next flush.

“Several councils across Australia have already used the Sani-Sleeve to reduce bathroom water usage by a staggering 94 per cent,” says Mr Greg Williamson, Business Development Manager Enviro-Fresh Australia Pty Ltd.

“The Toowoomba City Council was so impressed with the product it plans to install the system at other council locations in the near future.”
