• Costs less than 15 cents per day to dispense both boiling and chilled water in an instant.
• Less energy than a traditional 50 watt light globe and is up to 40% more effcient than a kettle.
• Electronic smart technology offering two efficient power-saving timer options. A 24 hour clock that can power the unit down and back up at pre-set times and an automatic sleep mode. In sleep mode, if no water has been drawn for a specified time (2 or 4 hours), the HydroTap will power down to conserve energy; returning to full power at the touch of the tap.
• Air-cooled system means no water wastage compared to competitor models, one of which was found to be capable of dumping some 17 litres of water down the drain when in standby mode over a 24 hour period – equivalent to wasting 6,205 litres of drinkable water each year.
• Fully insulated under-sink operating system incorporates excellent temperature retention properties which apply to both boiling and chilled water storage. 

The Zip HydroTap is designed with safety in mind:

• Tap stays cool to the touch, making the HydroTap perfect for today’s OH&S conscious workplaces. Made from chrome plated die-cast metal, the HydroTap is ergonomically designed and built to last.
• Safety Lock to prevent boiling water from being dispensed accidentally. Access to boiling water requires finger and thumb operation.
• For additional safety, the boiling water lever can be disabled completely. Once this is operational, boiling water can only be dispensed by pressing the safety button three times. Chilled water remains active.
• Leakage protection system safe-guards against flooding. In the unlikely event of leakage, the integral safe tray contains the water. Meanwhile the leak detector will turn the entire system off safely.
• Superior filtration system with filter change indicator ensures a healthy source of water. The system can also be set to accommodate varying water quality conditions.

Installation

Plumbing

• To be installed by a qualified trades person and in accordance with manufacturers instructions.
• The appliance must be installed in accordance with AS/NZS 3500 Plumbing.
• The water supply must be potable (drinkable).
• The water supply must deliver at least 2 litres per minute at a minimum dynamic pressure of 70 kPa and a maximum pressure of 700 kPa.
• If static pressure exceeds 700 kPa, a 500 kPa pressure limiting valve must be fi tted (Pressure limiting valve not included).
• An isolating valve should be installed between the water supply and the under-sink unit.
• The under-sink unit should be located as closely as possible to directly beneath the tap – maximum up to 1.0 metre away.
• Tubes should be taut for proper drainage.

Electrical

• Power supply: 220V – 240V AC 50Hz.
• To be plugged to a 10amp GPO.
• Boiling water element rating: 1800W (BC150/175), 1500W (BC100/125).
• Chiller compressor rating: 1/4hp (BC150/175), 1/6hp (BC100/125).
• Chilling system: fan-cooled condenser type using refrigerant R134a.
• Clock: digital readout with power-save sleep mode function. 

Ventilation

• The under-sink unit must be installed with clearances of 50mm left and right, 220mm above and 65mm rear.
• Cupboard ventilation is required. Comes with rubber door buffers or alternatively a ventilation grill (supplied) must be installed to ensure proper airflow through the cupboard. 
• When installing the under-sink unit where minimum clearances are met, Zip recommend the installation of the auxiliary exhaust fan code 90651 to improve the airfl ow through the cupboard. Extract fan supplied as standard on BC150/175.

Warranty

Zip HydroTap comes with a twelve- month warranty and a one year extended warranty if the product is registered on the Zip website.
