If a pool owner does not maintain their swimming pool water level within the height of the skimmer mouth [entry point of the skimmer], their filtration system will not operate and the pool water will turn green. More importantly if the water level drops below the skimmer’s mouth, the pump will run dry and eventually require replacement. Therefore pool owners must be vigilant in topping up their swimming pool to maintain the correct water level. Standard skimmers have a weir opening of approximately 150mm in height, the new water saving skimmer has a weir opening of 250mm in height. This additional 100mm in height equates to approximately 4000 litres of water. The increase in height allows a water larger water variance, resulting in less top ups. The calculation of 4000 litres of water is based on a standard 9m x 4.5m pool. 9 x 4.5 = 40.5m2 of pool surface area. 40.5 m2 x the extra height of the skimmer 0.1m (100mm) = 4.05m3 Equates to 4050 litres of water. Rainfall will also aid in topping up the swimming pool. The installation of a the SupaSaver Skimmer will decrease the frequency of pool water top ups and allows the possibility of rain fall to help top up the swimming pool. We recommend the installation of a rain water diverter to divert rain water to the swimming pool. The pool partially becomes a water storage tank, because of the extra buffer created by the extended skimmer. Available in these states
