It is a simple installation to their existing storm water down pipe. This simple PVE down-pipe section diverts rainwater into a rainwater tank. Its unique design allows for traditional rainwater tanks to be installed some distance away from the home – without the need for unsightly overflow pipes. When connected to a rainwater tank, the device allows for the filling of the tank to capacity. Any excess rainwater automatically flows back into the downpipe. In ‘manual’ mode the device allows rainwater to be more efficiently directed into alternative water devices (eg. Watering can, buckets, drums, or ponds and other water features). How much water does it save? Eg Average rainfall in Ryde with 100 square meter area roof and a 2000 litres water tank can expect to save 31,400 litres per annum when used in the garden alone. This figure increases dramatically when captured water is also used in the bathroom. Sixty percent of homes in Sydney that have a rainwater tank are of 2000 litres capacity. The usage and functionality of the ‘MC Rainwater Catchment Device’ Automatic mode: When connected to a rainwater tank, the device is able to fill the tank to its full capacity. Any excess will automatically flow away via the specially designed overflow mechanism, back to the downpipe. Manual mode: In this mode the user is able to collect or divert the water straight from the device onto their water can, bucket, fish pond, etc. When not in use, it’s a simple of screwing Back the cap back onto the device’s outlet and the water will simple flow down the downpipe.
