Fytogreen roof gardens are a unique combination of Hydrocell RG30 horticultural foam as a water reservoir, fines filter and active growing media as a base layer for lightweight roof garden construction, in combination with Hydrocell 40 lightweight soil.

This unique combination, enables lightweight roof gardens to be constructed from as little at 62kg/m2 and due to the high level of plant available water, the profile can be as thin as 100mm.

There are separate catagories of roof gardens: Extensive which are <100mm thick and are suitable for house, garage or garden shed and industrial property roofs.

Semi-Extensive which are <200mm deep and Intensive, which are purpose built for recreational space, like Freshwater Place in Melbourne

Water Savings

The unique combination holds up to 50% of it's volume in water, so is very water efficient and able to maximise the available rainwater.
