Darwin and the Top End

Water use varies across the Territory. The following graphs illustrate where water is used around the home in Darwin and the Top End, and how consumption varies throughout the year.

Unlike less tropical areas, Territorians use most of our water outdoors. This is probably the first place you could make your water use more efficient.

The graph below shows the large variation in water consumption across the wet and dry season. The high dry season use is a reflection of the high proportion of outdoor use shown in the above graph.
