Increasing water efficiency and irrigation flexibility can help prepare your farm for any impacts of climate variability. The future of many farms will depend on farmers' ability to maintain productivity despite variable climate patterns. The Managing Climate Variability Program is an Australian Government initiative aimed at delivering more accurate seasonal forecasts with longer lead times than is currently available. The Program is focusing research and development activities on improving climate prediction, providing better access to climate information, developing tools for tactical decision making and further adapting agricultural and natural resource management practices to Australia's unique circumstances.
