Rebates for Greywater Systems
Local, State, and National rebates for greywater systems in Australia.

National
There are conditions and eligibility criteria for rebates on greywater diversion and treatment systems in Australia. The Australian Government is providing rebates of up to $500 to households until 31st March 2014 through the National Rainwater and Greywater Initiative for either:
- The purchase and installation of a new rainwater tank which is connected for internal reuse of the water for toilet and/or laundry use; or
- The purchase and installation of a permanent greywater treatment system.
There are also specific state run programs to help you make practical improvements to your home to save energy and water. In some states these include rebates for shower heads, washing machines, toilets and solar hot water. In addition, water audits are offered.

New South Wales
Neither the NSW Government or Sydney Water offers rebates to householders for greywater systems at this time.
NSW residents are advised to contact their local council to see if further rebates are available.
Northern Territory

Queensland
The Queensland Government does not offer additional rebates to householders for greywater systems at this time. Please contact your local council to see if further rebates are available in your area.
South Australia
The SA Government does not offer additional rebates to householders for greywater systems at this time. Please contact your local council to see if further rebates are available in your area.
Victoria
The Victorian Government offers a $30 rebates on purchases of one or more products with a combined value of $100 or more, including the purchase of temporary greywater diverters.
A permanent greywater tank system is eligible for a $500 rebate under the Victorian Government's Living Victoria Water Rebate Program. To be eligible, a licensed plumber must be used for installation, supported by a certificate from the Plumbing Industry Commission.
