The following websites focus on understanding how we use water and using it more efficiently.
- Schools Water Efficiency Program - VictoriaA program offered by the Victorian Government to assist Victorian schools to undertake water audit and retrofit services and save reticulated water supplies.
- Water – Learn It! Live it! - VictoriaThis is a program offered for Victorian schools (both primary and secondary levels) to help them implement water conservation and water education across the curriculum, with the aim of reducing water consumption and improving water management.
- Water: Learn it for life! - QueenslandTargeting early and middle years, this program offers a whole of school approach to water education that complements the Queensland curriculum.
- 'Make your water mark!' Watersaver Education ProgramFrom Gold Coast Water, this program covers four key areas including water as a valuable resource, sources of water, using water wisely and alternative water sources.
- Yarra Valley Water - Water SchoolThe Yarra Valley Water web site features a "Water School" section containing resources for Primary and Secondary students as well as a section for teachers.
- Water Corporation of Western Australia The Water Corporation of Western Australia has a well developed education web site with teacher and student sections. The site covers all aspects of water education – not just conservation – to put it all into context.
- WaterwiseWaterWise is a Queensland based campaign designed to increase public awareness about water issues, encourage more efficient use of water and treat water as a valuable resource.
- One minute showerThis site encourages participants to commit to cutting down their showering times and calculates how much water they will save. Teachers can see how they can use this site as an educational tool for children by clicking the Education link.
- Melbourne WaterMelbourne Water has a range of online educational resources for primary, secondary and tertiary students. They also offer educational tours to various locations within Melbourne’s water system and a stormwater education trailer that comes to you.
- Water Smart HomeMelbourne Museum has an interactive display inviting visitors to reduce water use in the home and garden. There’s also a website featuring water saving information, leading innovations in water saving technologies and some inspiring examples.
- BlueScope Tank A Day ChallengeBlueScope are giving a tank away a day to Australian Schools for a year. Check out their website for more details.
- Storybook: Captain Plop's Water Saving MissionSA Water have put together a story book suitable for helping students aged 4-8 learn about water conservation at home.
