Conservation and sustainability programs

The following programs focus on more than water conservation, they also look at saving other resources such as gas and electricity and offer resources that will lead to a more sustainable society.

    ARIES undertakes research in Education for Sustainability across various sectors including business / industry, local government education, community education, school, further and higher education.
  • CERES
    The Centre for Education and Research in Environmental Strategies (CERES) operates a community environment park in Melbourne. They provide a range of practical sustainability focused education programs, including Sustainable Schools within Victoria.

  • Gould League
    The Gould League has been educating Australian children, schools and the general community about conservation and the environment for over 90 years.

    Encourages young people to contribute to the safe future of our environment through resources on water, climate change, waste, biodiversity, marine & gardening.
  • National Centre for Sustainability - Professional Development Kit for Teachers
    This toolkit includes resources such as: Train the Trainer; Teacher Resources; and interesting Case Studies from the water industry, a crocodile farm, the banking and insurance sectors and more.
  • National Solar Schools Program
    The Federal Government provides funding of up to $50,000 for schools tackling climate change & water conservation by installing solar power systems, rainwater tanks and a range of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures.
