A co-worker survey after the project’s launch celebration at each site offered the following insights:
- 94% think it is a good idea to collect the water and give it to the community.
- 67% have talked to someone outside of work about this project.
- 78% said the water giving project made them feel pleased to work for Amcor. 80% had read the water saving materials supplied during the launch event and 5% intended to read the literature in the future.
- 61% had used the shower timer they had been given and 9% intended to use it in the future.
- 41% had changed something about their water use at home since the project launch (in addition to the shower timer).
Amcor will continue to phase in the project over the next two years, identifying suitable sites, engaging with local community partners and co-workers. Amcor is also keen to encourage other interested businesses to undertake a similar project.
