In 2001 savewater.com.au was the first Australian website totally dedicated to promoting, resourcing and supporting water conservation activities. Today that dedication remains and we are committed to providing and regularly updating practical information and solutions.
savewater.com.au is a dynamic and ever-expanding information resource, aimed at accelerating water conservation across all aspects of everyday life, be it in the home and garden, at play or at work, whether you work in an office or industry.
Water is part of our Australian way of life, but are we looking after it?
Australians have always shown great interest and care for the environment. We’re committed to nature conservation, we’re enthusiastic recyclers and we’re learning how to use energy more efficiently. And while we’re lovers of the coast and all things aquatic, our performance on water consumption per person isn't very good when compared to other developed countries.

As a result, savewater.com.au has a very important role to play in helping us all to reduce our water consumption, without compromising on convenience, comfort or safety.
As new water saving products continue to enter the Australian market, it is becoming easier to fit our homes, offices, public buildings and gardens with devices that are affordable, efficient, safe, look good and are economic to run.

Strategic partnerships for change
savewater.com.au began as a collaboration between Yarra Valley Water and the Centre for Design at RMIT University.
The program has now expanded to become an alliance between a range of leading Australian organisations concerned with water management and environmentally sustainable innovation. This strategic partnership crosses organisational boundaries to combine experience and resources from every area of water conservation.
The savewater!® Alliance will continue to expand the website and related water conservation programs in conjunction with a broad range of stakeholders interested in water conservation.
